Eenhana
Geography and history
Eenhana is the capital town of the Ohangwena Province in Namibia. This town is situated in the northern parts of Namibia and borders the country of Angola. It was proclaimed a town in 1999 and the name means “calves”. This name was derived from the calves that came to drink water at the spot where the town is now laid out.This town was a military centre of the South African Defence Force before it became independent.
Eenhana is located in a tropical forest area and has a very well-developed infrastructure because of its proximity to Angola. The Eenhana Memorial Shrine is situated in the area to commemorate the lives lost in the Namibian War of Independence.
