Geography and history

Khorixas is a town situated in the Kunene Province of Namibia. It is located in the Northern parts of the country and has a total population of approximately 6 000 inhabitants. Most of the residents are known as the Damara people who are one of the known ethnic groups of the country. Khorixas is located near a forest and rock art in the Twyfelfontein Valley.

Khorixas suffered a lack of development and business opportunities from 2009 and most of the youth have migrated elsewhere. This town has a desert-like climate with hot summers and mild winters.
