Ongwediva
Geography and history
Ongwediva is a town situated in the Oshana Province of Namibia. It is located in the Northern parts of the country and has a total population of approximately 27 000 residents. This town was established in the 1960' s and the majority of its residents speak the Oshiwambo language.
Ongwediva is the second largest entertainment town after the country’s capital city, Windhoek. An annual trade fair is held in this town which was started in 2000. When the town was established Namibia was still under South African occupation.
Ongwediva has seven churches, two private schools and 13 government-run schools.
